The Story of Muskogee Seventh-day Adventist Christian Academy

Updated: 3 days ago

It was around the year 2000 when the Muskogee Seventh-day Adventist Church saw the potential for a church school, envisioning a place where kids could learn and grow together. They got creative, setting up the school in the church itself. Sabbath School rooms became classrooms, and the kitchen and fellowship hall doubled as a lunch area. MSDACA started strong, opening its doors in the 2000-2001 school year with around 10 students and Mrs. Teresa Smith as the first teacher, who led the school through 2004.

A few years later, Mrs. Kimberly Bokovoy stepped in to continue the mission, though she could only stay one year. With that, the school paused as members thought about next steps and dreamed of building a dedicated facility.

Then in 2013, MSDACA was revived when Mrs. Charise Sandoval joined as teacher, bringing new life and energy to the school. Classes began again in the church, but the vision was expanding. By 2018, MSDACA had secured a new school building just outside Muskogee, set on six beautiful acres at 6106 W. Okmulgee.

The facilities are a dream come true—a spacious gym, large classrooms, a dedicated music room, and even a playground for the kids. There are plans to add sports fields, a running track, and picnic areas, which will bring even more outdoor activities for the students. In 2022, MSDACA served 14 elementary and middle school students, along with 5 high schoolers who study independently in the same space.

MSDACA has grown into something special, thanks to the prayers, hard work, and dedication of everyone involved. Now, as we look to enhance the learning experience even further, you can help!
