What is “The Healing Project?” It is what I believe to be an important piece of the upper room experience that is mentioned in Acts 2:1: “When the Day of Pentecost came, they were all filled with one accord in one place.” The scripture refers to those who have made peace with themselves, peace amongst themselves, and peace with God. Churches all over the Oklahoma Conference have been experiencing this movement of healing in their precious souls by participating in The Healing Project.
The Healing Project is evangelism training that is done over a weekend. For example, the Friday night session is how to make peace with yourself from something that you are innocent of that may have happened from your childhood or a broken relationship. Sabbath’s session in the divine service is about how to make peace in our precious hearts by forgiving the one who has caused us that pain. Then, after the potluck, there is a session on making peace with God. After the third session, there is an Agape Feast. There we seal what we have covered together with God. Finally, the session on Sunday focuses on the next step to moving forward as a healing church in Christ.
The hand of God has moved mightily through this year's healing project in the Oklahoma Conference churches. The result has taken many precious souls on a powerful journey of healing. Patricia Drake, a member of the Muskogee church, shares her experience. “Ever since I have experienced healing through The Healing Project, I have found my first love again. The result has me so excited at how the Lord is working in my life that all I want to do is share it.”
Deborah Warden, the Bible worker for the Tahlequah church, shares that “The most impactful way The Healing Project has benefited me was that it helped me understand that it's okay to be different. Now I realized that I’ve been called to stand apart.”
Like these two precious souls, my wife and I have also witnessed God's healing power in the lives of others. We have experienced with them laughter and tears of joy, and seen marriages restored. We have also witnessed precious wounded souls after 20 or 30 years of suffering begin or continue more powerfully their healing journey. Friends who recently joined the church or who are first-, second-, or third-generation Adventists have come together to heal and make peace with the purpose of continuing to heal and finish the mission.
In the Old Testament, God never helped the people of Israel to heal or be released from captivity because they were not ready. He knew in His wisdom when exactly they were ready to heal and be released from captivity. Precious souls of the Oklahoma Conference, God has heard your cry and knows that you are ready to be healed. This is the time God has given us to heal, unite, finish our mission, and finally go to our heavenly home. We look forward with loving hearts to going to your church and witnessing the healing of your members and attendees which will also lead to eternity. We love you all with the love of Jesus. Until then, be prepared for God is coming to your church with healing in His wings so that your beloved souls may be set free.
“But for you who fear My name, the Son of Righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall” (Malachi 4:2).
