It’s been busy in the Northeast corner of the state for women’s ministry! The holiday season is right around the corner, and the women’s ministry teams have been hosting, planning, and enjoying each other for the past few months.
A few weeks ago, the Bartlesville Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a Luau Kick-off at women’s ministry leader Kristi McLaughlin’s home. Kristi shared about the fun they had at the Luau below:
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them,” Matthew 18: 20 NKJV. This is the Bible verse that stood out to me the afternoon of our Women’s Ministries Luau. Our group was few in number but had enough excitement within our small group to be heard in the heavens. It was a blessing to gather with the ladies of the church for a wonderful feast and fellowship.
After our delightful mid-day snack, we gathered for a devotional, prayer, and discussion for future meetings. We have some great ideas and dates set for the coming events. Among these events is our Secret Sister Campaign. We started that campaign in July. Not only are sisters praying for each other, but they are also showering them with cards, gifts, and love. It’s exciting to see everyone having fun with it and learning more about one another.
I truly look forward to helping in guiding these beautiful women on their journey to Christ. May God richly bless each one of them.”
The Ponca City Seventh-day Adventist Church held its first event on September 11. It was a “Paint and Eat” event with lots of sweet treats and smiles! Attendees enjoyed painting a mountain scene while munching on homemade sweets.
If you are the Women’s Ministry Coordinator in your church but aren’t sure where to begin, the NAD Women’s Ministry Department has some great training programs for leaders covering everything from communicating to decision-making. We encourage you to share your stories of how your local church is fostering connections for the women in your congregation. We can’t wait to hear them!
