Back in 1853, Adventist believers in Bucks Bridge, NY, laid the foundation for the first Adventist school—a simple beginning that paved the way for what’s now a global education system with institutions from preschool to university.
In Ardmore, Oklahoma, the Adventist commitment to education took root in 1919, when the first Adventist school opened its doors. Over the years, Ardmore Adventist Academy has had quite a journey. In 2009, a tornado destroyed the original building, which had been made possible by Charles and Nellie Beavers, two passionate supporters of Adventist education. The school, named Beavers Memorial Junior Academy, honored their legacy until it was rebuilt in 2011. With this new building, the school became Beavers Adventist Academy, then Ardmore Adventist Academy in 2004, to better connect with the local community.
Today, Ardmore Adventist Academy carries on a legacy of faith-based education. The Beavers’ commitment is honored with a memorial in the school, reminding us of the impact of their generosity. With each new school year, we aim to continue their spirit of dedication, creating a place where students grow in faith, knowledge, and character.
Thank you for helping us shape the future, one student at a time!
