Jim Landelius

Pastor & Native Ministries

With 27 years of dedicated service, Pastor Jim Landelius has faithfully ministered in both Arkansas and Oklahoma, leading congregations in districts like Brentwood, Rogers, and Decatur in Arkansas, and Ketchum, Vinita, Sallisaw, Shawnee, and others in Oklahoma. His journey into pastoral ministry began through God’s miraculous guidance, transitioning him from lay ministry to bi-vocational pastoring and ultimately to full-time ministry.

Jim’s ministry is shaped by a deep desire to reflect Christ's love in everything he does. His favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:28, encapsulates his belief that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This conviction fuels his passion to help people experience God’s love firsthand, not just as a theological concept, but as a transformative force in their lives.

A quote from C.S. Lewis resonates with Jim's approach to ministry: "There have been some who were so occupied in spreading Christianity that they never gave a thought to Christ." Jim's focus is on the person of Christ, ensuring that his ministry is centered on fostering a relationship with Jesus rather than merely promoting religious activity. He believes that a strong, authentic connection with Jesus will naturally lead people to embrace Adventist truth.

In his free time, Jim enjoys reading and has a particular fondness for Ethiopian food. His forward-thinking vision includes an online ministry designed for shut-ins and those without access to a healthy church community. He envisions providing free devices and internet support, ensuring that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has the opportunity to grow spiritually.

Jim’s heart for discipleship is clear in his belief that the church should focus on helping people follow Jesus more than simply converting them to Adventism. His innovative spirit, compassion, and devotion to reflecting Christ’s love continue to guide his ministry and leadership.
