Israel Mora

Youth Director

Israel Mora currently serves as the youth director for the conference. He is responsible for children’s ministry, youth, young adults, public campus ministry or PCM, and club ministries, (Adventurers, Pathfinders and Master Guides). He’s also in charge of running Wewoka Woods’ summer camp program, which is his favorite.

Pr. Israel Mora did his undergrad in Antillean Adventist University, Puerto Rico where he graduated with a degree in pastoral theology (2004). While in Antillean, he met and married the love of his life, Eve.  Immediately after graduation, he was hired by the Southern New England Conference where he worked as a Hispanic pastor for 8 years. During his service in SNEC, he was sponsored to do his master’s in divinity at Andrews Adventist University (2008) serving also as the Hispanic Association President. After graduation, he was sent to pastor a three-church district in Connecticut. A highlight of the work there was baptizing over 100 souls.  Five years later, the Lord sent Him to work for the Carolina Conference, also in a three-church district. While there, he led a new church plant and served as the ShareHim Coordinator for the conference, traveling the world and preaching the Gospel.

Most of his ministerial work has been in Hispanic churches, but being fully bilingual, he was very comfortable in pastoring English-speaking churches and thus began His ministerial journey in a new work. In 2017, Pastor Mora was assigned to pastor the English Kernersville SDA Church in North Carolina for four years, where over 50 souls were baptized. In the summer of 2021, the Lord saw it fit to send Him to the Georgia Cumberland Conference where he pastored two Black churches, Duluth SDA and Lawrenceville SDA. He served only one year and 10 months, as he would be called to serve as the Oklahoma Conference Youth Director starting June 2023. Having pastored for two decades before becoming a youth director has equipped him to better understand the needs of pastors and how to help them in their youth ministries. He believes that the key to successful youth ministry is in working closely with pastors.

Pastor Mora has been married to Eve for more than 20 years all of them while in full time ministry. God has blessed them with two teenaged daughters, Elissa and Arianna. Eve serves at Parkview Adventist Academy as the 5th-6th grade teacher.

Pastor Mora enjoys reading and outdoor activities. He loves to empower young people to love, lead and serve others. He has a special love for the Pathfinder Bible Experience known as PBE, because he believes it will pay dividends for eternity in the lives of pathfinders. Interesting facts about Pastor Mora: He was kidnapped when he was a toddler, is not fond of large toads, speaks Spanish but also enjoys learning other languages such as Portuguese and Mandarin. His favorite subject is leadership, as he believes everything in life rises and falls with good or bad leadership. He hopes to do his doctorate in leadership soon.  His favorite color is yellow and favorite food is Thai.  His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:12 “…but I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happen to me, have actually turned out for the furtherance of the Gospel.”
